When thinking about what you should be worrying about in a survival situation, remember these 5 priorities.
Listed in order of importance:
• FIRST AID
• SHELTER
• FIRE
• SIGNAL FOR HELP
• WATER
DON’T WORRY ABOUT FOOD!

PMA – Positive Mental Attitude is one of the most important items you have in your survival arsenal. Your ability to stay positive in a stressful situation can mean life or death.

The Rules of 3
3 Minutes – Without air
3 Hours – Exposed to extreme heat or cold
3 Days – Without drinking water
3 Weeks – Without food

What to carry in your backpack while going in a hike? Here is a quick list to help you bring the important stuff.
• Fire Kit (several ways to make a fire)
• Water Bottles/Purification
• First Aid
• Shelter Making (some kind of tarp or poncho)
• Signaling Items – whistles, signal mirrors
• Food
• Clothing – layers to keep you warm and dry
• Tools – knives, multitools and saws are handy
